what i wore: lines of latitude

Top: Forever 21 | Boyfriend Jeans: Old Navy | Shoes: Ebay | Clutch: Clare Vivier | Sunnies: Anthropologie | Belt: Express | Necklace: c/o VeryJane | Watch: Michael Kors | Bracelets: Jcrew 1, Jcrew 2, Jcrew 3, and Stella and Dot | Lips: Revlon Stormy Pink

I was beyond excited when I graciously received this gorgeous J.crew necklace look-a-like from VeryJane for an upcoming back to school feature !

But let's get real- I couldn't WAIT to wear it until then.

VeryJane is one of my go to websites that offers seriously affordable jewelry (my personal fav), among many other items.  Each day, new items are added to the site for up to 75% off normal prices, and are emailed to you daily!  If you follow their Instagram account, you can even see sneak peeks of what will be added the following day.  This is super helpful because they seriously have dead ringers for many of J.crew's pieces, and are QUICK to go!

Be sure to stay tuned for my upcoming back to school feature with VeryJane!
Happy Monday :)

what i wore: wuyw + itsy bitsy indulgences do stripes

Shirt: Forever 21 | Dress: BB Dakota via Modcloth  | Shoes: Vince Camuto (thirfted- similar here) | Clutch: Tory Burch | Necklace: VeryJane | Sunnies: Anthropologie | Watch: Michael Kors | Bracelets: Jcrew 1, Jcrew 2, and Stella and Dot
You may remember me introducing you dear readers to Shannon and Allison of Itsy Bitsy Indulgences on their blogger spotlight feature a few weeks ago.  So I was beyond flattered when Shannon sent me an email wanting to collaborate on a post featuring stripes.

Probably the most repeated pattern in my closet.
Classic and timeless, stripes will always be a staple that returns year after year, regardless of the season.

I was very inspired to try tying this classic tee over a white dress once I saw the gorgeous
Julia of Gal Meets Glam wear it this way.

Itsy Bitsy Indulgences chose to style their favorite stripes by wearing a laid back nautical striped maxi dress with a gorgeous top knot- very Southern California!
How perfect is the back of this dress?!?!

what i wore: ankle strap heels (collab w/ purely peanut)

Denim Vest: Thrifted (similar here) | Dress: Random Boutique in NOLA | Shoes: GoJane (similar here) | Clutch: Clare Vivier | Sunnies: Anthropologie | Bracelets: Jcrew 1, Jcrew 2, Jcrew 3, and Stella and Dot | Watch: Michael Kors

Sadly, today concludes the final post in the collaboration series with Jacqueline of Purely Peanut!  She is a San Francisco based fashion blogger! We chose 3 of our favorite Spring/Summer 2013 trends to style in our own unique way.  Today we chose to style ankle strap heels- an absolute must have in my opinion.  Something about them lengthens the legs, and feels uber feminine.

I chose a new pair of nude ankle strap heels that I ordered from GoJane for a ridiculously affordable price.  I paired these heels with a light sun dress and a denim vest, and added an extra pop with some leopard and tortoise accessories.  Jacqueline went with a super sleek pair of black heels and paired them with a gorgeous floral skirt!

How do you feel about the ankle strap trend?

what i wore: camo barbie

Blouse: Forever 21 | Jeans: Zara (old- similar here) | Shoes: Ebay | Purse: Tory Burch | Sunnies: Amazon | Bracelets: Jcrew 1, Jcrew 2, Jcrew 3, and Stella and Dot | Watch: Michael Kors |  Lips: MAC Candy Yum Yum

One of the biggest trends I have been seeing in stores lately is the military trend.  Camo prints, utility jackets, khakis and olive greens- it is everywhere for Fall 2013.  Although I am totally on board with the trend, I am still extremely girly and like the juxtaposition of girly glam paired with GI Joe prints. Which leads me to the shoes...

I cannot tell you how badly I wanted the pair of Valentino knock-offs from Torrid.  They were completely sold out of size 7, but it was rumored that they ran a little small.  I immediately had my mother track a pair down in Memphis and get them for me.  Unfortunately, they were waaaaaaaay too big for me.  Then I found these miracles on Ebay- and I am hooked!  I got the pink pair and the black pair.  The heel height it perfect and they are so well made.

Expect to see these a lot in the near future.

blogger spotlight: champagne lifestyle on a beer budget

I am so excited for this week's blogger spotlight!

Meet Hannah Hagler, the author of Champagne Lifestyle on a Beer Budget.  We all know how much I love a good deal, and Hannah is totally on the same page.  Her adorable style and penny saving tips are the main focus of her blog, but she also features DIY, food, life, and even home design. This gal definitely has a sense of style that is to be envied.

Keep reading to find out more about Hannah and her blog
WUYW:  Of all of your posts, which outfit or feature has been your absolute favorite thus far?

My favorite is post is my cobalt dress in the harbor.  I love it because we sort of stumbled upon the harbor as a picture location, and it ended up being so perfect with the blue dress.

WUYW:  Why would you consider this your best post to date?

I don't know if it is necessarily the best, but it is my favorite because it is the most unique out of all of my outfit posts.

WUYW:  How/why/when did you decide to start a fashion blog?

My blog started as a place to put my thoughts, DIY projects, and wishlists.  After I had been blogging for awhile, my friend who works for a dress company and asked me to style one of their dresses three ways...and I did.  It got such good feedback, and I had such wonderful support from fellow bloggers, that I decided to go for it!  It was very intimidating and scary, but I'm glad I did it.

WUYW:  What was your biggest hesitation regarding starting a blog, and how did you overcome that hesitation?

My biggest hesitation was the commitment -- it has almost become a second full-time job!  I overcame it by making a schedule, and committing to blogging an hour in the evenings, and on the weekends when I can.

WUYW:  What would be your biggest piece of advice for others who are just starting a blog?

Reading other blogs is very helpful, and a lot of them offer tips for blogging.  Also, be yourself, and make sure it is always FUN for you.  And last, interact with other bloggers!

WUYW:  What do you do for a living?

I work in financial advising.  I have always had a love for saving money (hence, the blog name!) and I love helping others with their finances.

WUYW:  How would you describe your style?

I would say it's classic, bold, & feminine.  Working in an office has molded my style into something much more sophisticated, and I like to focus on investing in staple items that I can accessorize.

WUYW:  If you could only save one item from your closet (heaven forbid), what item would it be?

My Christian Louboutin Decollette Pumps!  They are my first pair of designer shoes.

WUYW:  Who or what is currently influencing your style the most?

I love Blair from Atlantic-Pacific, Julia from Gal Meets Glam, and Olivia Palermo.

WUYW:  If you could trade closets with anyone, who would it be with?

Olivia Palermo!

Like what you see?
