...remember me?

Hi, ya'll!

Anyone still stop by here anymore?

First of all, let me just apologize for taking a pretty loooooooong hiatus from the blog without any warning to my readers.  It really wasn't an intentional break, it just sort of organically happened.  A LOT has been going on- with end of the year craziness at school, buying a house with my husband, coping with a severe illness in my family, moving into the house, and decorating the house. THEN add celebrating weddings/ showers/ anniversaries/ birthdays/ traveling- it has added up to a pretty amazing and busy summer.

That being said, I do plan on getting back in the swing of things with my little corner of the Internet after a nice, long, relaxing break.  First up- a little documentary of our recent travels to Jamaica. My sweet husband surprised me with this little getaway for our three year wedding anniversary.  We went with another couple that we are very good friends with, and I must admit- it was the best vacation I have been on in a LONG time.

I hope that you all are having a wonderful summer so far,
and I cannot express how much I appreciate each and
every one of you reading this blog.  I look forward with sharing
much more with you in the upcoming weeks!

what i wore: cheerful chambray

Shirt: Madewell (similar here and here) | Skirt: Blaque Label via Lulu's (old- similar here) | Shoes: Asos (similar here) | Clutch: Clare Vivier | Sunnies: Karen Walker | Watch: Michael Kors | Bracelets: Groopdealz (oringinal here), T+J Designs, Brina Box, and Stella and Dot | Necklace: Love Always Couture (mine is the gold dipped, 1.5 in) | Lips: MAC Saint Germain

Here is a bright and cheery look for this Friday!
I love the bright pops of colors in this look,
and I cannot stop wearing this Madewell chambray shirt.

I scored it on sale a few months ago,
and actually got it a size too big for a more comfortable, relaxed fit.
I was nervous that it would be too frumpy, but I actually
prefer its oversized fit compared to my other chambray shirts.

I hope you all have a wonderful, relaxing weekend!

And remember, if you love today's look,
I would really appreciate you taking a moment out of your day to
It means the world to me! xo!!

my new "it" bag

Long story short- I have been on an insanely crazy hunt for a pink bag.
I originally had my sights set on the Phillip Lim Pashli in Pink,
as my twenty-seventh birthday is fast approaching.
Unfortunately, after weeks of hunting and hunting,
I was still unable to get my hands on a pink Pashli.

I did happen to see a bag that I adored weeks ago,
but only found it in black and white polkadots.
By some miracle, I was perusing through DSW's
website of all places- and saw my dream purse
in my dream color.

Ladies, meet Betsey Johnson's Hopeless Romantic Tote.
I ordered it in pink because- duh- I already explained that.
But I would be totally okay with having
this purse in every color it is made in.
I really can't choose a favorite.

what i wore: weekend warrior

Sweater: Nordstrom (similar here and here) | Pants: Zara (similar here) | Shoes: Jcrew (current version) | Purse: Phillip Lim x Target (original here) | Sunnies: Karen Walker | Watch: Michael Kors | Bracelets: T+J Designs, Brina Box, and Stella and Dot | Necklace: Love Always Couture (mine is the gold dipped, 1.5 in size) | Lips: Stila Beso

Today's look is simple and casual- the perfect combination
for running around completing errands over the weekend.
I actually wore this on Saturday (...and Sunday. Whoops!)
for our home inspection and some furniture shopping.

Our new house has a lot more square footage than what
we have been living in.  So not only am I wanting new furniture to
decorate our forever home, we literally just need somewhere to
sit/ eat/ sleep/ etc.  Lucky for me, I convinced Ryan to head
out to Pier 1 with me to see a sofa and love seat combination
I had picked out online.  We were quietly looking at the loveseat,
and the store manager came over and said "We actually have the matching
couch in the back, would you like to see it?" We saw it. We liked it.
We kept shopping around to get a ball park of what we need and what
its going to cost.

After some serious shopping, the manager came over to us and
let us know that they actually do not have the room to store the
full size sofa, and that he would sell it to us at a very discounted
price.  What are the chances that they have the exact sofa, in our
exact color, on extreme sale??!?!? Lucky for us we got the couch
we wanted,which was originally $800, for $455.

Talk about a score!

On a totally different note, if you love today's look,
I would really appreciate you taking a moment out of your day to
It means the world to me! xo!!

what i wore: femme fatale

Trench Coat: NY & Co (last spring- here are this season's options) | Tights: Target | Booties: Sam Edelman | Sunnies: Amazon (original here) | Necklace: Love Always Couture (mine is the large, gold dipped) | Clutch: Clare Vivier | Lips: MAC Saint Germain

You know what they say.
April showers bring May flowers..
and I'm going to need a cute rain coat.

Isn't that how it goes???

I think I literally screamed when I found this beautiful
powder pink trench coat last spring at New York and Company.

This trench coat is incredibly well made, and doesn't wrinkle
easily, which makes it one of my favorite layers to sport
during this up and down weather season.

I am currently on Spring Break right now (hallelujah).

We were originally planning to head to Destin, FL.
Now that we have bought a house, we figured
it would be more economical to stay in town.
I will be doing lots of reading and working out.

Hope you all are having a wonderful start to your week.
Thanks for reading!

home owners

So, I totally slacked on blog posts last week.
And to make matters worse, I didn't get anything lined up for this week.
But there is a reason for the lack of fashion.

Luckily, we had a wonderful realtor, and had a relatively short
house hunting period- just two weeks of looking.
This is the actually the first house we put an offer in on,
and thankfully there were no bidding wars.
Which is all fine by me ; )

Words cannot express how excited we are, and how
some things really do just work out the way
they are meant to be. We got our dream house,
and can't wait to move in and start making it our own.

First project: walk in closet!

Have a wonderful St. Patrick's Day,
from someone who is feeling pretty darn lucky!
